Join Circular Yokohama for a zero waste Xmas cultural exchange!
- On 2024/11/26
Looking for a fun and relaxed way to practice your English or Japanese?
Meguru Hoshiten English Cafe is a language exchange community based in Yokohama, Japan, and we’re all about making learning fun and social!
For the upcoming December, we’re hosting a special Christmas-themed party where you can join locals and internationals for a unique cultural exchange. Through “Zero-waste crafting”, you’ll improve your language skills in both English and Japanese—while having a great time!
What is Zero Waste and Why?
The venue, “qlaytion gallery” at Hoshiten qlay, regularly hosts circular events combining resource circulation with community building. This year’s Christmas event is a cultural exchange experience centered around zero waste living.
Zero waste is a lifestyle that aims to minimize waste and rethink daily habits to produce as little garbage as possible. Unlike recycling, which focuses on reusing waste, zero waste emphasizes preventing waste generation from the start.
For this special occasion, we’ll create unique, handmade Christmas wreaths using fabric scraps!
The process is simple: attach fabrics cut into small squares to a wreath base. It’s an enjoyable craft that’s perfect for everyone, from children to seniors. Through this activity, you’ll experience creative ideas for a zero-waste lifestyle firsthand.
Whether you’re a beginner or fluent, this is a safe space to practice your Japanese with local Japanese people. Let’s have fun!
