2022 brings us the summer early. Although we were supposed to have a lot of rainy days in June, it has already gotten boiling as the highest temperature reached 36℃ (96.8°F) in Yokohama.

At the same time of getting along with the severe heat, we took part in several events in June.

MUJI festival “Hakken-sai

Ryohin Keikaku, the company that established MUJI, held a seasonal fair, “Hakken-sai (the festival of discovery), from June 3rd to 26th.

MUJI Konandai birds is one of the biggest MUJI stores located in Yokohama. Circular Yokohama had invited to its talk show on June 5th.

The main topic was the product lifetime extension.

Circular Yokohama introduced the history of mass consumption and why the product lifetime should be enhanced based on the circular economy concept.

We were honored to be part of the talk show and meet the audience! Thank you very much for the great opportunity.

PBL Workshop with KAMAN and Kanagawa University

Kanagawa University and Circular Yokohama have been cooperating to provide circular economy education since 2021.

The first collaboration in 2022 was a problem-based learning (PBL) workshop on June 29th at the Kanagawa University Minato Mirai campus.

KAMAN Inc., the company that produces the reusable packaging circulation “Megloo,” shared with us several problems they are facing.

Eleven students and members of KAMAN and Circular Yokohama had a discussion to find reasonable solutions.

At the end of the workshop, Shingo, the CEO of KAMAN, said, “Every student has different and unique perspectives, which are very different from what usually comes up to my mind. I want to pick up their ideas to make our circular project more valuable.”

Circular Yokohama’s Brand New Podcast is Now on Air

Circular Yokohama has released its Japanese podcast series “Marui Radio (circular radio).”

In the first episode, we had Misato and Yoshimi as guests and talked about their project “StockBase.”
